The Ideal Protein Protocol is a 4-phase program designed to help you lose fat and then maintain your ideal body weight. Here’s a quick overview of the four phases:

Phase One

The first phase of the protocol is the most strict and intense, as it is your weight loss period. You must be sure to follow the recommendations for Phase One strictly until you reach your target weight. While this phase can be the most difficult, it’s important to consume all recommended foods each day in order to avoid going into “starvation mode,” which will ultimately stall your weight loss. 

Phase Two

Once you’ve reached your target weight, you can move into Phase Two of the protocol. In this phase, you can start substituting an additional source of “real” protein at lunch, rather than the “Ideal” protein packet that you’ve been consuming during Phase One. 

Phase Three

In Phase Three you can begin to add fruit and dairy back into your diet, albeit sparingly. You should know that it is quite common for many people to regain a few pounds during this phase. This is largely due to the glycogen returning to your body along with your increased intake of carbohydrates. 

Phase Four

Phase Four is simply the maintenance of a diet and lifestyle that will help you maintain your target weight. Phase Four materials will help you learn how to effectively balance carbs, proteins, and fats in your daily meal plan.
